The reason for foundation cracks:

Cracks in concrete foundation are very common. They are the result of shrinkage in concrete, slight settling pressure against the outside wall from expansion and contraction of soil. Foundation cracks can be caused or aggravated by improper building practices, most wall cracks are no fault of the builder.

How much shrinkage is normal? A 100 lineal feet of concrete will shrink up to a 1/4 inch causing a crack to form. Most cracks are not structural problems; using epoxy over a urethane grout not only do you get a sealtite crack but a structural repair making the wall monolithic.

Many homeowners or novice waterproofers will try to patch the crack on the inside with waterproof cement, this is what Sealtite Basements calls a "bandaid" job. The problem is that the patch is only on the surface; acting as a "bandaid" and eventually the patch or "bandaid" will re-crack and leak again.

Considering over half the cracks we repair have been patched in the past by homeowners and builders, it's obviously not a long-term solution.

Additionally, pipe penetration and tie holes can be injection with a urethane grout to stop water intrusion.
